Sharon is a unique instructor with a unique curriculum. In fact, I never really thought of her as an instructor, but rather as a tour guide!, Sharon gently walk our group through a process of self-realization to get everyone to recognize our own unique daily routine and how we take it for granted, especially the negative aspects. Ms. Downing showed us how easily it can be changed for the positive. Simple steps like changing our daily routine, even slightly, can make a difference in how we see ourselves and our workload, every day. I worked with Sharon Thomas-Downing while I was employed with the U. S. Department of Labor/Career Assistance Center as their Training Officer. Our paths first crossed while I was planning for an Administrative Officers’ Training Conference. Sharon did a cold call by stopping by my office to explain the training services that she offered. Based on that meeting, I contracted with her on behalf of DOL to provide a Stress Management session for the conference. She not only provided that session, she also conducted handwriting analysis for several of the participants. The Career Assistance Center expanded our services to offer more comprehensive management development sessions for our customers. Based on our experience with Sharon, we contracted with her to provide a full range of Career Development training sessions for a newly implemented Management Development Program, as well as individual career counseling services.
